In relation to the Five Elements Theory, this year of the Rabbit is associated with the Water Element which supports thinking and planning, so it is beneficial to plan for the year ahead.

In Feng Shui, by incorporating objects and colors into one’s home and office, one can bring good fortune in financial and health issues, relationships and restore positive energy or Ch’I in one’s life.

• In this Year of the Rabbit, auspicious colors such as azure blue, apple green, pearl white, red and imperial yellow will support the wealth energy in your home. Please note, when using red, it is important to use it sparingly, only in accents. Also, when adding any color to a space, remember to create a balance and harmony with the overall space.
• The Water Element is a symbol of wealth and prosperity. Implement water elements, such as a pool or bowl of water for calm energy, or an aquarium for stimulating energy, depending on the energy of the room.  If including an aquarium into a space, goldfish are seen as the luckiest kind of fish to have. Also, to enhance the Water Element in a room with color, use black, blue, and gray-green.
• The Wood Element supports a new beginning and increases the sense of nurturing. A common Feng Shui remedy of adding plants such as Bamboo promotes new beginnings and abundance. Flowery plants such as orchids and peonies also support new beginnings while adding beauty and fragrance.
• Incorporate objets in a design space, such as the Dragon, a pair of Fu Dogs or even a Three-Legged Toad! As the year of the Rabbit will bring good fortune, the dragon will be helpful when protecting one’s finances. Place Fu Dogs in entryways or on bookshelves to protect from negative energy and promote prosperity. As fascinating as it is, a three-legged toad is used to attract wealth.
